Tire Kingdom Sucks

I went to Tire Kingdom to get an alignment, oilchange and wheel balance which should have cost me about $100. I was informed that I also needed front brakes and front struts so my total came to $884. The next week I see an ad saying it was half price for brakes and struts. I was never informed of the upcoming sale and if I was I would have waited a week to get everything done. I contacted corporate and was told they would give me a refund of $229 and I would receive it in a week. It is now 1 month later and every time I contact them I am told that the check is in the mail. Contacted them again today and was told the check was mailed today. I told them I was tired of being lied to and my next step would be to contact my local tv station which would look very bad on them.

Nasty dirt-bag liar people. Go elsewhere.

Don't fund corporate giants that see you as a dollar sign.

This company sucks. TTTTB take that to the bank

I wish i could eat 5 steaks at outback and then get money back next time they have a special.

Deceptive estimate

brought my car in for an alignment was told the bolts were frozen and I needed inner and outer tie rods told them no and drove the car to new york and brought it to my cousins shop on long island passenger side bolt turned with no problem drivers side loosened up with 30 seconds on his torch it cost me 100 dollars between my cousin and firestone doing the alignment they wanted 560.00 at best they're incompetent like most southern mechanics at worst they're outright crooks avoid these people at all costs the manager seemed exceptionally pissed when we didn't agree to let them do the work

I agree with J Doe 100%.... Jake you always run risk heating bolts on tie rod ends...get hot enough and could bowl grease out and melt bellow....I used T/K alot and believe thier straight up company.... :p

Guest

Common sense 101 heat bends metal. Good job.

Guest

You should never torch tie rods to do an alignment, they were correct and they should have been replaced, its distorts the metal and weakens and potentially damages other compnents. Theyre not crooks and youre an uninformed ***

Dropped my care off a lift...Worst auto shop ever!

At a Merchant's Tire and Auto location in Waldorf, MD, I had the worst experience of my life. Went in for a simple oil change and got my care wrecked instead. Incompetent and untrained staff improperly secured my car (2005 Dodge Stratus 4door sedan) on the lift and it dropped 6 feet, nose first into the cement garage floor. I had extensive front end damage and frame damage. The store manager was so unprofessional, he was eating his lunch while explaining what just happened. They covered the cost of a rental car and body shop repairs, but it took 2 months to get my car fixed. Car "mysteriously" needed a tune up, new oil pump and front wheel tire rod/arm less than 2 weeks after getting it repaired.

joe i see you have nothing intelligent to say so would you please when you get off here go out and find the last american in miami and tell him to please bring the flag with him thank you

Guest

I can’t top a car falling off a lift but and can tell everyone not to use Tire Kingdom for anything. I had them replace a fuse in my car…about a $1 item…..and they charged me $56!

I kid you not. $56 for a fuse so my power windows will roll down.

What a terrible company. I’ll never use them again.

Guest

It was only a Dodge, so any damage was probably an improvement. You should be thanking them.

New Tire Kingdom in Monroe,NC. Run Away!!!

I have a vehicle I have been working on restoring. I replaced all my front end parts IE: Tie rod ends, control arm bushings, ball joints. I went to the new Tire Kingdom to get my front end aligned. After waiting 45 min. They brought me to the van explaining they could not align it because they had to add "Parts" because my camber was out. They wanted 2 more hours labor and charge me extra for the camber shims. Doesn't The camber have anything to do with the alignment? Just a ploy to get you to spend unnecessary money if you didnt know what they were saying about your vehicle. I ended up not paying after raising *** and letting them know that I paid for a Complete alignment. Caster, Camber and toe-in is a complete alignment! Run!!!

Im not a mechanic but have restored a few cars in my time and just like any other business they charge you for the service they perform as does the Firestone and ford dealer Ive been to in the last few months. Oh Outback charged me additional for the side of fries i wanted last night to!!

Guest

Hey, ***, of course camber has something to do with the alignment. Why don't you research before you post??? Why shouldn't they charge you additional labor if installing additional needed parts is required to ensure your alignment is correct?

Dont go to tire kingdom!

The Tire Kingdom in Summerville SC is the worst place to buy tires in the world. The buy one get one free is cool...if you wanna pay $200 bucks for one tire.Told them all I want is two tires, they charged me $305 for that, $150 for an alignment (that I didnt want) and slapped me with a one year warranty for $197 (without even askin me). Now I gotta go to court. Dont go to tire kingdom. P.S. They said two hours but it took them about six and a half hours to rip me off!

They way there buy 2 get 2 tire program works is you buy a lifetime alignment, premium tire package with lifetime balance/rotation.then they remove the retail price of 2 tires off of the bill, they are moving monies/costs around to improve there gross profit in the stores. Yes it cost you more to buy that program. Look they are really hurting bad there business model they are using is fooked and will be out of business soon

Guest

BEEN TO TIRE KINGDOM TWICE. ONCE FOR TIRES, AND ONCE FOR A OIL CHANGE.

BOTH TIMES THE BILL WAS OVER $500.

I LEFT EMPTY AND FEELING RIPPED OFF. ARE THERE ANY HONEST AUTO SERVICE DEALERS LEFT..................I WONT BE BACK.....

Guest

First, read the ad and UNDERSTAND it. It clearly says WITH premium installation and alignment.

Second, I guarantee that you SIGNED a work order with the alignment on it. If you don't read what you sign, then it is your fault for being ***.

My car had to be towed away!

Took my car in the Titusville , Columbia rd. Store was getting 4 tires alignment, and oil change.

I was called and told I needed breaks told them no dis not want them. Came to pick my car up the tech. Drove my car out on to the 405 and a large ball of smoke come out and car went dead. Managers and workers pushed my car back into the bay and proceeded to try and fix the problem.

3 hours later finally tire kingdom got me a rental car, next day told me it was my fault and could not do nothing to fix unless I paid 1000.00 dollars for some part and repairs. Had my car towed to Nissan was told tire kingdom had been calling them about my car to try and get it fixed. Nissan fixed my car which cost me another $2,000.00. They burnt both my cataleic coverters up.

Some relay was also broke. I had to go back to get a rental car for a week. More money. Six months later enterprise was calling me because the car tire kingom rented me for 1 day had not been paid on and the manager was avoiding their calls.

This company needs to be shut down!!! Do not go here.

Wish I would have researched reviews before I had work done by tire kingdom. Lesson learned, I know research companies before I will use them.

Former employee tire kingdom every day rips off customers

as a former employee, tire kingdom is the worse company to work for , also due to high pressure for sales each day customers cars are always checked to find things that need replacing even if the items are not bad.the battery testing equipment is set to show 90% of all batteries tested show that they need to replaced, when in fact they are still good. do not buy a battery. ever. the mechanics are the worse at all stores, want to be's, that could not get a real job at a dealership or reputable independant shop.it's a shame for the amount of customers that do go to the tire kingdoms you would think that the company would pay decent so they would have top knotch employees but no they will always get under qualified individuals who try to advise customers about very important issues on repairs and services to their cars.if you like to gamble with your familys safety and your own , well roll the dice and go to tire kingdom !!!!!

Tire Kingdom-Bottom of the Barrel.

I am an employee of Tire Kingdom, sad to say. I am not a disgruntled employee with an axe to grind. I deal only with the facts. Please all of you beware, and stay away from Tire Kingdom. Employees at each location are encouraged to lie and write up and perform work that does not need to be done. Why? Corp office along with their bottom of the barrel district managers put extreme pressure on store managers to make the number at all cost. Who suffers? You do!! You pay un-needed cash to keep their doors open and to supply bottom of the barrel managers with a Job. I can assure you that Tire Kingdom is not the place to take your vehicle. If you do, make sure you always get a second opinion. Needless to say, I am looking for a new Job. I can no longer handle the constant dishonesty. I refuese to perform any un-needed work on customers cars and for this, I am hated by upper management. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks

Called about their buy 2 get 2. Turns out with all the garble they gave me.

the buy 2 get 2 is nothing but a rip off. That program actually cost more than anyother tire dealer in Florida.

Amazing how they let them get away with it. I'll not use Tire kindom to even get the correct time.

Guest

Really genius, read the back of your receipt. It states your responsibilities....oh no...that's right you have responsibilities, you actually have to take care of the tire/tires, and in the event of an irrepairable tire, to take advantage of the no fault road hazard you must purchase the road hazard on the new tire..$24.99 too much for you...next time go to Jo Jo's used tire palace and see how far you get.

Guest

first of all... cant you type in English?

the state of FL requires a new tire fee. Also, with the road hazard, if you use it, you should be paying for a new road hazard on the new tire.

IF you have a car accident, your car is totaled, and your insurance company gets you a new car, do you stop paying your insurance premiums? DUH!

Tire Kingdom fluid/brake/suspension checks

I have been a Tire Kingdom customer since 1997. Recently I've noticed the store at 238 Orange Park Fl has started checking the fluids, suspension, brakes, etc without asking the customer first. This week I went in for tire rotation and told the manager on duty that I had just paid my mechanic to have all of those services done and that they need not do this since they had only two guys working, and customers had come in after me. There was only an hour before closing, and I thought this would help by speeding things up. Shortly, they pulled my car into the work area and I watched as their mechanic began doing the checks that I expressly told them not to do. I immediately told the manager they were really wasting time by doing this. His response was, "I would rather get yelled at for doing my job than get yelled at for not doing my job". I don't know if all Tire Kingdoms do this. My point is, when the customer tells the manager not to do services on their car the manager should listen. I feel this is a new way to drum up money for the store by having the customer pay for unneeded work. This also increases the time the customer has to spend at the store. When it comes time to put new tires on my car, I think at this point I will go to a different tire company chain. K Casler

Really? Your an ***, both of you.

I'd rather have them take an extra 10 minutes an perform an inspection that could potentially save me money or my safety in the long run, then complain about it. Its what they do, if they don't inspect the car and you go out and get into an accident because of a failed part/bad tire they can be held responsible, and I'm sure you'd sue them. Its called 3rd party lyability, let them do there job, show you what's recommended then decide if you want to invest in the repair. And to the firestone/mastercraft guy...so your saying after a year there is no way a part could fail?

Again get real, parts are man made. Some last, some dont, you have a warranty on parts and labor, if your outside of that warranty its quite possible you made need to replace the part again.. does it suck? Yup, but its not worth pointing a finger and playing the blame game.

If you did that to me I would have told you and your troer friend to *** off... You people are sad excuses for Americans.

Guest

Firestone stores(MasterCraft I believe) were notorious for this back in the 80s. Women would get sucked in due to lack of automotive knowledge.

I experienced it first hand. Took car in for their "lifetime" alignment and was told I needed new front shocks and idler arm(which was done by them less than a year earlier). I refused and returned that weekend with my paperwork and a friend, a Maryland state police officer in uniform. They *** their pants when I told them I was fileing a class action suit on consumer fraud, both against MasterCraft and the store manager.

I did file as did several other customers and they went out of business in less than a year. Actually, I believe Tire Kingdom took over the MasterCraft locations.

Tire Kingdom will not honor tire warrantee

One year ago I purchased 4 new tires from Tire Kingdom. The tires have a 55,000 mile warrantee. Yesterday, I brought my VW to the dealer for maintenance and they told me my front tires needed to be replaced. I called Tire Kingdom and they told me to bring in the car. Once I got there, the manager told me he would not honor the warrantee because the car needed an alignment. The manager was nasty, confrontational, and mean. I only drove 11,000 on these tires!!!! What a ripoff!! He told me he would prorate the tires and sell me new ones....I don't think so....they won't get one more penny from me!! I have also registered a complaint with Tire Kingdom corporate office. What horrible customer service!

11000 miles....tires are bald...OK so you got 11k out of 55k tires... simple math says you get a PRORATED discount on a new tire, sounds like the manager was doing his job...but you expected FREE tires because you didn't follow your end and take care of the tires...

yes people you must take care of tires, like any investment...

check tire pressure once a month(free), rotate tires every other oil change or 6000 miles(free), check the alignment 2 times a year(free)....simple, and ya know what? Its all on the back of your paperwork, not to mention common knowledge...

Guest

Did you Did you read the back of your invoice where it clearly states to have the alignment checked every 6 months/6000 miles? Why should Tire Kingdom be responsible for your lack of tire maintenance?

Hey Mugrump. I can buy a steak at public for $8 or I can go to Morton's for the best service, but it will cost me.

Maybe you should have thought about that before you bought a car with run flat tires.

It's probably Tire Kingdom's fault that you leased a car that you can't afford, right? ***.

Guest

I guarantee that the "repair" for $20 was only a plug. tire Kingdom completely breaks down the low-profile tire from the rim and performs an internal patch. This is much safer, and lasts the file of the tire, whereas a plug is just a piece of leather forced thru ***

Guest

Gotta love people who drive expensive cars but can't afford the maintenance on them. 80 bucks is not even that much, considering these are some low profile extremely stiff tires. I hope you default on your overpriced car and it gets repossessed!
