My name is Patrick Bettin,I am a 46yr old disabled Gulf War Veteran.I have never in any Professional or any other situation for that matter, had to deal with the rudest,harsh,berating,and literally screaming anger from a business that was supposed to repair my Vehicle.Let me start from the beginning,3-4 weeks ago i needed two new tire's and an alignment on the front of my 98 GMC Safari van,4.3 vortec,all wheel drive.I was happy with the tire's and alignment,The service tech saw some seepage from the rear wheel cylinder's,and suggested doing the rear brake's.I agreed as i knew the wheel cylinder on driver's side was slowly leaking,not a problem i said to go ahead and do the repair.Now a little background on myself,I ran a very successfull auto repair business in the Dade City area.Pat's Mobile Auto Repair,also 3 day's a week i did 12 hr shift's for Wal-Mart's tractor trailer fleet at the DC in Brooksville,fl.I am an ASE certified Master mechanic,with 28yrs experience.I was working injured since the Gulf war,after falling in may of 2010 i was totally Disabled.Hence the reason i needed to depend on you're Company,now back to the original problem.When i left Tire Kingdom with my van,I noticed the pedal went very close to the floor,and both the Brake light and the ABS light were on the dash.I left the next morning on vacation in the van,I had to give plenty of stopping distance to safely stop.Even with the extra room it would pull left and then right when you braked.It was when we had to make a hard stop that the front wheel's both locked up,without any feeling of rear braking.Now when i brought it too you're shop the brake's were all working seeping or not i towed my 22ft cuddy cabin sea ray boat with NO issue's.I had no chance to get back to Tire Kingdom until today the 21st of Aug.Now i stopped by a week ago but it was almost closing time and Kenny Jimenez who was the only very polite and very Professional Employee i dealt with told me no problem,too bring it back as soon as i could and he would take care of it.He explained that "Bryan" did the work on it,and he was sure he didnt bleed the system or possibly adjust the rear brake's correctly.All time's they looked at it and had all four tire's off there was no issue with the front brake's,the only issue's were the rear's and the ABS-and Brake light's.When i went back they looke at the rears again and said they adjusted them and all was good.I left happily on my way to Atlanta to pick up my oldest son at the airport and then drove to Panama city too meet with my Daughter,The bottom line is when i hit the brake's i still had no rear brake's,I had no time to deal with this yet again until today.Now when i showed up Bruce Doherty was taking care of the van for me.Now they put it on the lift and find that what do you know my front brake's need replaced?Really!Maybe because i've been driving on front brake's only?Bruce turns into attitude when i do not want to do the front brake's for 400 plus dollars,Even at this point I have no intention of wanting you're Company to do my front brake's for free!I just want my brake's and warning light's in the same condition they were when i brought the vehicle to you.When i towed my boat and almost had a very serious accident i knew this had to be taken care of asap.At this point Kenny came to me and stated that Bruce,who stopped any contact with me(Very Business like)said he would cover labor for the front brake's if i bought the part's,again they think the front brake's are the problem and will magically fix the rears,,now Bruce say's the rear's work because on the lift the tech hit the pedal and he could'nt turn the drum by hand,sorry but that tell's you nothing about brake force!But still yet i say OK i will go get the part's and you can do the front brake's.I left to go to Napa the same one that he priced the Caliper's at $125 each,they were $17.69 each over the counter,now i marked up my part's 15% and never in my shop was the customer wrong!Anyway i had to go to 2 different Napa's to get two caliper's and ceramic pads,the only pad's i use.Then i get back to you're shop and let Kenny know the part's are in the van.The next thing i know a tech i had not met want's me to sign a repair order for $200 plus dollars,at this point after a very long day,and only wanting my brake's working i tell him too put my van together and i will leave!Now Mr.Bruce want's too berate and yell at me about how i'm Mr.F---ing genius mechanic,cussing and yelling at me in front of staff and other customer's I am absolutely in shock,this guy gave me my van back in an unsafe condition,will not talk to me, will not fix the mistake that was made by this shop....and he's yelling and cussing at ME!After screaming at me,he then in a very threatening manner tell's me too leave!Now i was ready to leave and take this up with you at corporate,our local new's station,and the better business bureau,but somehow being yelled at by this person that i kept free by serving my Country and in the end being Permenatly Disabled!I am just at a loss?How am i too blame for having you work on my vehicle?All i want is my Brake's,not even new,just back to working condition!The customer is alway's right in the business i ran,and as a service writer and ASE master mechanic i was alway's made very clear to treat the customer with respect and never to even think about raising you're voice or cursing.We would be fired on the spot as i would fire any of the employee's that worked for me in my business!Anyway back to Mr.Bruce,after demanding i leave again, i say it's raining i'm not driving that van the way it is ,FIX MY BRAKE'S...his answer is to threaten to call the Police.At this point my pain level is a 11 out of 1-10..so i say no problem i will call them,and with him still yelling at me i call 911..They advise me to step outside in the rain and wait for the Officer.When the officer arrive's i let him know by law that i am armed and legally carry a weapon,we then discuss what happened and he ask's what he can do?I reply have them fix my brake's....the one thing that hurt more than being berated by this Bruce Doherty,is the fact that he accused me of trying to get a front brake job and work for free!Really?All i ever asked for is my van back to the condition it was brought to you in!I am going to atleast see what legal and public action's i can take unless my van is made correct.This was the first time in my life i have ever let anyone beside's myself or one of my employee's work on a vehicle i own,i can still do some very light work but it take's me forever,my wife insisted i take it to a shop this time.....gee see where this got me!I have never been in trouble in my life,now it's very clear that Bruce will not be apoligizing or fixing my van,because he had the officer give me a trespass warning!!!Great customer service huh?Make's for a great new's story though,Vet get's his brake's ruined by I received a very hatefull e-mail from Bruce today from a no reply address,how sad,youareascamer@***.com,nice isn't it.this was my reply that went undelivered,Amazing,this was never in any way shape or form about money!I paid $658.64 for two tire's and a front end alignment that i stated before was fine,why do you get so angry and defensive about fixing the rear brake problem that i allready paid for?I'm at a loss as to where you get the idea i want something for nothing!I have been nothing but honest and willing to do what it takes to fix the issue.It's like i did something to *** you off in a personnel way,If i'm missing something please fill me in.As far as driving the van,it's not too bad on dry roads,and giving yourself extra stopping distance,they only show really bad when TOWING the boat,and on wet roads,you would know this if you test drove it as i asked you too.The front tires will lock like they did every time i did a hard stop in the parking lot,did the proportioning valve go out or close off the rear side?We will not know until next week when i get it to the dealer,I never asked you for anything except for my rear brakes to work as they did when i brought it to you.Is it something you're shop did?Something i did by driving 2000 plus miles and pulling the boat with it the way it is?Hopefully i will find out very soon!But for you as a manager in a service related company to not figure out the problem and instead continue to harass me and speak the way you did to me,for what?A BRAKE problem that's all.Not a end of the world issue,I'm sorry that we see this so differently,when i ever had a tough repair or hard to fix issue that i may have caused,i did everything possible to make my customers happy.A tech once dropped a front of a front wheel drive car on the jack before getting stands in place,I was a small company so i paid out of my own pocket to replace all broken parts(starter,alternater,cooling fan,and radiator)and they were always a great customer even after that experience.I do not understand where or how this escalated to this point.This is a forum to make people aware of my issue with you're company.Money is tight,being on a fixed income,but that was never a issue in this repair,i paid for the job and left with problems,that i thought would be no big deal,how wrong was I?As far as LIABLE,you were paid for a job that doe's not work,you can say the exhaust ending at the rear axle for several weeks is the problem,you can say that the recent fuel line leak is the problem.But we know thats not the truth!I wish i knew why you have this anger towards me?I will get the brakes done elsewhere and i will get the exhaust back on,and i will fix the fuel line.But that still leaves me not really knowing what in the world this was all about with Tire Kingdom?I am a very easy going,easy too get along with person with no enemies,so yes it will bother me trying to understand this whole deal.I can tell you this if i find next week that this brake issue was my fault,I will drop and explain the BBB claim and all other resources!Thank's if you read all this Pat.I noticed your address is you are a scamer @***.com....What do you think i could have lied about?And how in the world doe's this brake issue that i paid for make me a scammer?What could i possibly gain by going through what i've been through?
